Haiti opens Port St. Lucie training camp tomorrow — 19 days to kickoff

Les Grenadiers are one day away from their two-week training camp at the voco Sandpiper All-Inclusive Resort in Port St. Lucie, Florida (May 24 – June 8), the final major preparation block before Haiti's first World Cup in 52 years. The location — close to the South Florida diaspora hub and within the Miami tournament zone — is deliberate: matches at Hard Rock Stadium are a short drive away.

Coach Sébastien Migné announced his 26-player roster on May 15. The squad skews heavily toward the diaspora: three MLS players earned selection — Philadelphia Union midfielder Danley Jean Jacques, FC Dallas forward Louicius Deedson, and Toronto FC's Derrick Etienne Jr. Former French youth international Jean-Ricner Bellegarde headlines the European contingent. Veteran goalkeeper Johny Placide anchors the back.

Haiti land in Group C alongside Brazil, Morocco, and Scotland. Their opening fixture is June 16. The squad will also play two preparatory friendlies in South Florida in early June before moving north to a New Jersey base.

No injuries or squad changes were reported in the last 24 hours. Camp tomorrow marks the operational start of Haiti's tournament cycle.

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only other World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility. 52 years later, the Grenadiers return.
