Placide released by Bastia; Bellegarde back in training at Wolves

Veteran goalkeeper Johny Placide has left SC Bastia, with Transfermarkt confirming he has been without a club since 1 July 2026. At 38, the departure marks the end of his most recent stint in French football and opens a question over his next move ahead of what remains of the summer window.

At Wolverhampton, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is back in first-team training after a spell on the sidelines, with FOX Sports reporting the midfielder is expected to return straight to the squad. At 28, Bellegarde remains Wolves' most valuable Haitian asset (€16m per Transfermarkt) and his fitness recovery is timely as pre-season work ramps up.

Elsewhere, La Gantoise defender Jean-Kévin Duverne has a club fixture listed on Sofascore for 4 July, suggesting Gent's pre-season programme is under way. FC Lugano's Hannes Delcroix is similarly scheduled for club activity on 4 July. Almere City's Ruben Providence — who turns 25 on 7 July — also has a club match on 4 July per Sofascore. All three clubs are in pre-season or early competitive phases with their Haitian internationals available.

"Bellegarde was back in training this week and is no longer on the sidelines, with the attacker expected to make a return straight to the squad Saturday." — FOX Sports

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
