Placide without a club at 38 as Isidor eyes Sunderland exit

Veteran goalkeeper Johny Placide is the lead story of this cycle: the 38-year-old became a free agent on 1 July 2026 after his contract with SC Bastia expired, according to Transfermarkt. Haiti's most-capped goalkeeper — 25 league appearances and 2,250 minutes in his final Bastia season — is now on the market as Ligue 2 clubs enter pre-season. At his age, a short-term deal or retirement decision looms.

The second significant story belongs to Wilson Isidor at Sunderland. The Sun reports that the 25-year-old forward wants to leave the Black Cats this summer after losing his starting place — his last league start came in December. Sunderland, now back in the Premier League after promotion, are reportedly not expected to stand in his way. Isidor scored 12 goals and contributed two assists in 43 appearances last season.

Elsewhere, Carlens Arcus (Angers SCO) has a contract extension through June 2027 already confirmed — good standing as Ligue 1 pre-season opens. Dominique Simon (Tatran Prešov) appears in a Sofascore profile now linked to FK Pardubice, though the canonical club remains Tatran Prešov per squad records.

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
