Isidor stays at Sunderland; Nazon without a club after Esteghlal exit

Wilson Isidor leads today's brief after BBC Sport and Sky Sports reported that Sunderland have firmly rejected any sale of the Haiti striker this summer. West Ham were the most prominent interested party, but BBC Radio Newcastle's Nick Barnes notes that Championship football holds no appeal for Isidor, and manager Régis Le Bris has been equally clear he does not want to lose the 25-year-old. Isidor remains at the Stadium of Light as the English Championship campaign approaches.

The second major story concerns Duckens Nazon, who is now without a club. Transfermarkt records his departure from Esteghlal FC as of 20 July 2026, leaving Haiti's all-time leading scorer (79 caps, 44 international goals) a free agent at 32. No new club has been announced.
