Isidor stays at Sunderland as West Ham interest rebuffed; Paugain starts in Waregem win

Wilson Isidor leads today's brief. Multiple reports published in the last four days confirm that Sunderland have made clear the Haitian forward is not for sale this summer, rebuffing interest from West Ham United. One outlet described the club's stance as firm, and Isidor — who sealed a permanent deal at the Stadium of Light — will remain with the Championship side heading into the 2026-27 campaign. The West Ham approach adds transfer-window weight to a player who has emerged as one of Haiti's most marketable assets since the World Cup.

Wilguens Paugain provides the clearest match note. The Zulte Waregem defender started in the Belgian Pro League on Sunday 9 August, with Waregem defeating Genk 2-1. It is an eye-catching early-season result for a newly promoted side — Waregem sit without a loss through two matches of the new Belgian top-flight campaign.

Elsewhere: Hannes Delcroix started and registered four shots in FC Lugano's 2-0 UEFA Conference League qualifying first-leg win over NSI Runavik on 6 August, with a brief muscle injury (25-28 July) now behind him. Danley Jean-Jacques started Philadelphia Union's Leagues Cup loss to Club Atlético Zacatepec on 7 August. Carl-Fred Sainthe came off the bench in El Paso's USL Championship wins on 5 and 8 August.

Dominique Simon's canonical club remains Tatran Prešov per this brief's squad list, though Transfermarkt and LiveScore now reflect a return to parent club FK Pardubice in the Czech top flight.

"Isidor wasn't for sale this summer – good news for all involved. Isidor will be a Sunderland player for at least another season."

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
