Etienne Jr. scores at Inter Miami as Jean-Jacques, Isidor also in focus

Derrick Etienne Jr. leads today's brief with back-to-back attacking contributions for Toronto FC. The veteran forward scored in Toronto's 2-1 win at Inter Miami on 22 August — his best result of a strong late-season run — and added an assist three days earlier in a 3-3 draw at home to Charlotte FC on 19 August. Etienne Jr. has now registered a goal and an assist across consecutive MLS appearances, a timely sequence as Toronto push for a playoff position.

Danley Jean-Jacques is the brief's other standout. The Philadelphia Union midfielder scored in a 3-2 win at New York City FC on 16 August, then started and recorded two shots in a 2-2 draw at home to Inter Miami on 20 August. Jean-Jacques has started in each of Philadelphia's last four matches across MLS and Leagues Cup, registering two shots on target across that stretch.

Wilson Isidor's situation at Sunderland continues to generate transfer noise, with West Ham United and other Premier League clubs reportedly expressing interest. Sunderland have not publicly indicated a willingness to sell. Josué Casimir came on as a substitute in Auxerre's heavy 5-2 defeat at Lens on 22 August, a difficult opening for the Haitian winger in Ligue 1. Lenny Joseph has started each of Ferencváros's first two Hungarian NB I fixtures of the new season after his Europa League qualifying contributions in late July.

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
