Isidor stays at Sunderland; Etienne Jr. scores vs. Inter Miami; Delcroix injury update

Wilson Isidor leads today's brief. Sunderland have drawn a firm line in the sand: the 26-year-old Haitian international will not be leaving this summer, Sky Sports reports, despite sustained interest from West Ham and what sources describe as an "insulting" bid from Hull City. Isidor has become central to Regis Le Bris's plans after scoring 19 goals in 83 Sunderland appearances, including six in last season's Premier League campaign that earned the Black Cats a seventh-place finish and Europa League qualification. The BBC notes he also scored for Haiti against Morocco at the 2026 World Cup.

Derrick Etienne Jr. is in fine form at Toronto FC, starting and scoring in a 2-1 MLS win at Inter Miami on 23 August — his second direct goal contribution in four days after an assist in a 3-3 draw with Charlotte on 20 August. The 29-year-old is hitting his stride at a critical point in the MLS Eastern Conference race.

Hannes Delcroix picked up a muscle injury between 25–28 July, per Flashscore, and his availability for FC Lugano's early Swiss Super League fixtures warrants monitoring.

Elsewhere: Wilguens Paugain started Zulte Waregem's 0-0 Belgian Pro League draw at Union Saint-Gilloise on 15 August and faces KVC Westerlo on 30 August. Keeto Thermoncy has moved on loan to Stade Nyonnais and features in Switzerland's Challenge League, with a match due today (28 August) against SC Kriens. Jean-Kévin Duverne logged 90 minutes for Omonia Nicosia in UEFA Europa League qualification, though his canonical club remains La Gantoise.

"Wilson Isidor will not be sold this summer." — Sky Sports, citing Sunderland's firm transfer stance amid West Ham interest.

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
