Isidor signs Sunderland deal to 2030; Etienne Jr. scores; Expérience joins Dender

Wilson Isidor leads today's brief after Sunderland confirmed a new contract extension keeping the Haitian striker at the Stadium of Light until summer 2030. The 26-year-old, who joined on loan from Zenit St Petersburg in August 2024 before the deal was made permanent in February 2025, has scored 19 goals in 83 appearances for the Black Cats, including six in the Premier League last season as Regis Le Bris's side finished seventh and qualified for European football. Isidor was pictured in action at Portman Road on 22 August in Sunderland's Premier League fixture at Ipswich Town. "There is still a lot more to achieve here," he said on signing.

Derrick Etienne Jr. continues a strong run of form for Toronto FC, scoring in a 2-1 MLS win at Inter Miami on 22 August — his second goal contribution in four days after an assist in a 3-3 draw with Charlotte on 19 August.

Martin Expérience has left AS Nancy as a free agent and joined Belgian second-division side FCV Dender, with the move completed on 12 August. He featured in Dender's last match and earned a 7.4 Sofascore rating. Dender host RFC Liège in the Challenger Pro League today (29 August, 14:00 UTC).

Danley Jean-Jacques remains in strong form for Philadelphia Union: a goal at NYC FC on 16 August, followed by two assists in a 2-2 draw with Inter Miami (19 August) and one further assist in a 1-1 draw at Austin FC (22 August).

Lenny Joseph's Ferencváros face Trabzonspor in the UEFA Europa League today (27 August fixture listed; result not yet in sources).

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
