Jean-Jacques drives Philly; Sainthe scores; Ferencváros march on in Europe

Danley Jean-Jacques is the form man of this cycle. The Philadelphia Union midfielder has started all four of their last MLS outings, contributing a goal (16 Aug vs. NYC FC, W 3-2) and an assist (29 Aug vs. RBNY, W 3-1), while also registering assists in back-to-back draws against Austin and Miami. The Union are on a strong run — four unbeaten across August — and Jean-Jacques has been central to every result, routinely leading the team in fouls drawn.

Carl-Fred Sainthe grabbed the spotlight in the USL Championship on 29 August, coming off the bench to score and register a shot on target as El Paso Locomotive thrashed Louisville 4-1. It is Sainthe's first recorded goal contribution of the season and arrives during a three-game winning streak for El Paso.

Lenny Joseph and Ferencváros continue their European run: the forward started and played the full match as the Budapest club dismantled Trabzonspor 4-0 on 27 August (5-0 on aggregate), advancing in UEFA Europa League qualifying. Joseph recorded three shots and one on target.

Elsewhere: Johny Placide has left SC Bastia and joined FC Borgo (National 1 Group A) on a free transfer, effective 1 July 2026. Martin Expérience departed AS Nancy on 12 August, signing with FCV Dender (Belgian Challenger Pro League) as a free agent. Jean-Kévin Duverne moved to Omonia Nicosia (Cyprus) on 11 August. Frantzdy Pierrot's loan at Çaykur Rizespor ended on 30 June; he has returned to parent club AEK Athens. Duckens Nazon is without a club since departing Esteghlal on 20 July 2026.
