Danley Jean-Jacques is the standout Grenadier of the current MLS run-in. The Philadelphia Union midfielder has been in relentless form: a goal in Saturday's 2-0 home win over Montreal (Sep 5) followed an assist in the 3-1 road win at New York Red Bulls (Aug 29), making it direct contributions in back-to-back starts. Philadelphia look firmly in playoff contention on this run.

Derrick Etienne Jr. (Toronto FC) is matching that output at the other end of the Eastern Conference table. He scored as a substitute in Toronto's wild 4-4 draw with Chicago (Sep 5) and added a goal and assist across the Aug 22 and Aug 19 fixtures — three goal involvements in four appearances.
