Haiti sit top of CNL Group A after 4-1 demolition of Dominican Republic
NATIONAL TEAM LEADS. Haiti's CONCACAF Nations League A campaign has been outstanding. After opening with a 2-0 win over Costa Rica on 27 September, Les Grenadiers travelled to Santo Domingo and dismantled the Dominican Republic 4-1 on 1 October — their most emphatic result of this cycle. Wilson Isidor was the night's standout, scoring twice (51', 67') to take his CNL tally to three goals in three appearances this window. Don Deedson Louicius opened the scoring on 9 minutes, and Yassin Fortuné added a fourth (76') to seal the rout. Haiti have nine points from three CNL group-stage matches and lead Group A, with qualification to the quarterfinals effectively secured heading into the final matchday.
At club level, the international window created a brief scare: reports circulated that Isidor had been substituted in the Costa Rica match due to injury. Sunderland and the player's camp have since dismissed the rumours; Isidor will return to Wearside fit. Sofascore confirms his last national-team rating was 6.2 against Costa Rica (a 2-0 loss), while he was decisive against the Dominican Republic.
Meanwhile, Ferencváros forward Lenny Joseph hosts Debreceni VSC on 10 October (OTP Bank Liga); Cosmos Koblenz hosts SV Gonsenheim the same day (Oberliga), with Josué Duverger potentially in goal.
