Haiti qualify for CNL quarter-finals despite 2-0 loss to Costa Rica
Haiti's CONCACAF Nations League group stage is done. The Grenadiers qualified for the quarter-finals after winning their first three matches of Group A — 3-2 vs Trinidad & Tobago, 2-0 vs Costa Rica (home), 4-1 vs Dominican Republic — before falling 2-0 to Costa Rica in the return leg on 4 October. Goals from Carlos Mora (6') and Andrey Soto (21') settled that dead-rubber, but qualification was already secured.
Wilson Isidor leads today's brief on the strength of that international window. The Sunderland striker scored twice against the Dominican Republic on 1 October — the brace that had sparked injury speculation — but Yahoo Sports/Sky Sports sources confirm he returned to Wearside fit and uninjured after the Costa Rica loss. Sunderland had stood firm against West Ham interest over the summer and Isidor remains a first-team asset in the Championship-turned-Premier League outfit.
On club movement: Johny Placide has quietly joined FC Borgo (National 1, Group A) after his Bastia exit — a match against ASC Pieve di Lota in the Coupe de France régionale is scheduled 11 October. Martin Expérience is no longer at AS Nancy; Transfermarkt records his move to FCV Dender (Belgian Challenger Pro League, joined 12 August). Dominique Simon has left Tatran Prešov for UAE Pro League side Hatta Club (joined 29 September).
