Isidor injury scare cleared; Haiti finish CNL group 3W-1L after Costa Rica loss
Haiti's CONCACAF Nations League group stage is complete. Les Grenadiers finished their four-match run with three wins and one defeat — topping the group after victories over Trinidad & Tobago (3-2, 24 Sep), Costa Rica (2-0, 27 Sep) and the Dominican Republic (4-1, 1 Oct), before falling 2-0 to Costa Rica on 4 October. The CNL quarterfinals are next.
Wilson Isidor leads today's brief after a scare that rattled Sunderland fans. Reports circulating before the Costa Rica rematch suggested the striker had been injured during his brace against the Dominican Republic; Yahoo Sports has since confirmed those fears were unfounded and Isidor will return to the Stadium of Light fit. The 26-year-old had already cemented his place as Haiti's most dangerous forward this window.
Elsewhere in the cycle: Ruben Providence delivered two assists in the 4-1 win over the Dominican Republic (ESPN). Yassin Fortuné scored as a substitute in the same match. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde came off the bench in Wolverhampton's 1-0 EFL Championship defeat at Middlesbrough on 10 October, picking up a yellow card. Hannes Delcroix remains the standout club performer of the past fortnight after his hat-trick for league-leading FC Lugano on 20 September.
