Bellegarde scores vs Bolton as Lenny Joseph signals return from injury
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde leads today's brief with a goal and a strong performance for Wolverhampton against Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Championship on Tuesday 13 October. The Haitian midfielder started, scored once, registered two shots on target and won four fouls in a 3-1 defeat — Wolves' second consecutive Championship loss after going down 1-0 at Middlesbrough on 10 October, where Bellegarde came off the bench and collected a yellow card. Wolves' form is a concern, but Bellegarde himself continues to produce at club level.
The second story belongs to Lenny Joseph. The Ferencváros striker has not featured for club or country since suffering an injury on 30 August against Akademia in the Hungarian league. Le Nouvelliste reported on 14 October that Joseph has announced his return to fitness — significant news given his absence through the Nations League window.
On the national team: Haiti's CONCACAF Nations League group stage closed on 4 October with a 2-0 defeat to Costa Rica, having previously beaten the Dominican Republic 4-1 (1 October), Costa Rica 2-0 (27 September) and Trinidad & Tobago 3-2 (24 September). The Grenadiers qualified for the quarterfinals.
Wilson Isidor's injury scare — reported before the Costa Rica loss — was subsequently dismissed, per Yahoo Sports, with the Sunderland forward returning fit to club training.
