Bellegarde scores for Wolves amid Haiti's CNL group-stage exit

Haiti's CONCACAF Nations League group stage is now complete, and the picture is sobering: Les Grenadiers finished second in Group B with a 3W–0D–1L record, their run ended by a 2-0 defeat to Costa Rica on 4 October. That reverse followed an exhilarating 4-1 demolition of the Dominican Republic on 1 October — Haiti's third straight win under new head coach David Badía, who took charge in early September. The group stage saw Haiti score nine goals and concede three across their first three matches before the Costa Rica setback. Per Concacaf's own summary, Haiti progress to the Nations League knockout rounds but as group runners-up.

At club level, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde is the standout. The Wolverhampton midfielder started against Bolton on 13 October (EFL Championship) and scored, though Wolves lost 3-1, per ESPN. It was a bittersweet outing: Bellegarde had come off the bench in the prior league defeat at Middlesbrough (1-0, 10 October), picking up a yellow card. Wolves are enduring a difficult Championship campaign.

Elsewhere: Martin Expérience and AS Nancy host Annecy today (16 October) in Ligue 2, per Footmercato's fixture list — a timely home fixture for the defender. Hannes Delcroix's hat-trick for Swiss Super League leaders FC Lugano on 20 September remains the form story of the autumn window.

"The victory was head coach David Badía's third straight since taking over Haiti in early September — nine goals scored, three conceded across the winning run."

Manno Sanon, the goal that silenced Italy

Haiti's only World Cup. Sanon beat Dino Zoff and ended 1,142 minutes of Italian invincibility — still the standard the Grenadiers chase.
