Grenadiers seal CNL quarter-final spot; Delcroix hat-trick the club highlight

NATIONAL TEAM — Quarter-finals secured. Haiti's CNL Group A campaign is complete: four matches played, three wins (Trinidad & Tobago 3-2, Costa Rica 2-0, Dominican Republic 4-1) and one defeat (Costa Rica 0-2 away on 4 October). Les Grenadiers finish second in Group A on 9 points — goal difference (+4) edging out the Dominican Republic (also 9 pts, GD 0) — behind Curaçao (10 pts). Coach David Badía is 3-1 since taking charge in September. Haiti face the United States or Mexico in the CNL quarter-finals; next confirmed window: 14 November 2026.

CLUB HIGHLIGHT — Hannes Delcroix, FC Lugano. The Grenadiers' centre-back was unplayable in Lugano's 4-0 demolition of Lausanne-Sport in the Swiss Super League, scoring a hat-trick between the 35th and 52nd minutes — a close-range finish and two headers from set-pieces. Lugano lead the Swiss Super League table. Delcroix (27) previously worked under Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht and Burnley.

Other notes. Jean-Ricner Bellegarde has been a reliable starter for Wolverhampton in the EFL Championship across October. Wilson Isidor has signed a new contract at Sunderland and scored against Fulham in the Premier League. Dominique Simon has moved to Hatta Club in the UAE Pro League (joined 29 September).
